On Seismic Satanic Shifts

There's been a great deal of upheaval in the Satanic community lately. Here's my take: we're still all on the same side; we're still all fighting for justice, even if we're using different methods and approaches. I respect people's differences and their decisions.

Satanism is at heart a highly individualistic path, and I can make no claims about what is and isn't right for anybody else. But I do believe we can suspend tribalistic snarking and let each other work in peace.

I never in my wildest dreams thought there would be this much Satanism out loud and proud in the world. My great love is Satanic community, and in the past five years I've seen it become a reality across the globe. It's been incredible to witness and I'm glad I get to be a part of it.

But it's inevitable that a modern religion can't all grow under one unified umbrella, that splits will happen as groups or individuals break off to pursue their own vision of what Satanism is.

What I don't want to see is replication of the TST/Church of Satan interaction, where COS spends a great deal of energy trying to tear TST and its works down. There is so much injustice in the world; I want to see us all working on rights progress in parallel, because it's going to take every ounce of our combined strength to fight the rising tide of theocracy.

Your Satanic path is your own, and it's not my business to tell people what to believe or what org to throw their lot in with. Let's do the best we can to respect each other's differences. We've got so much work to do; let's focus on that instead. Let's bring our multiple Satanic perspectives to a world struggling against religious oppression and do some good!
